To be honest, psychological thriller dramas aren’t my cup
of tea. Too heavy and gloomy, my stress level would rise. I really don’t
remember why i decided to watch White Christmas in the first place, knowing
that it’s a psychological drama. Anyhow, i ended up watching the eight-episodes
series, and i did not regret one bit. My stress level went up afterwards but it
was worth it. White Christmas is a well-written, well-directed drama, with
stunning cinematography and killer soundtrack.
It tells the story of seven
students of an elite boarding school located in somemountain, who were taken as hostages by a
serial killer, and that killer decided to play a psychological game with them.
This drama introduced me to Kim Woo Bin, and personally i think this was his
best performance so far. The red-haired Mad Mireu was definitely my favorite
character in this drama.
Oh, and let’s not forget K-Drama perpetual scene stealer,
Lee El.
After finishing the drama, i became obsessed with the
soundtrack. Couldn't find an official OST album, so i had
to compile the songs myself, which is not an easy task considering lots of the song
used are instrumentals. I’ve spent days listening to a whole bunch of post-rock
tracks, trying to figure out if it’s the right one. I did manage to recognize
several songs, however there are still several others that remain unknown.
